University of Vermont Dance Program

The Dance Program at The University of Vermont provides the opportunity to develop and expand technical, creative, and theoretical dance knowledge and facilitates rich and meaningful interaction between students, faculty, guest, and community artists. The heart of the program lies in the practice and theory of modern/contemporary dance, but multiple styles and approaches are offered, including African dance, ballet, Brazilian dance, Capoeira, composition, hip hop, improvisation, site performance, somatics, and more. The Dance Program is part of the Department of Theatre and Dance, and enjoys a close working relationship with the Department of Music as well. UVM Dance offers multiple performances, master classes, and workshops throughout the academic year, often in partnership with the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts.
