Tai Nixa Peterson

Tai is currently based in Central Vermont and has 30 years of dance experience. Her background began with tap, jazz and ballet, but she later fell deeply in love with modern and contemporary, and has also dabbled in musical theatre. Dancing is what her mind, body, and soul need to stay balanced and joyful!

Originally from NH, Tai has traveled around the world, lived in Buffalo, NY, and then put down roots in Vermont in 2017. She started dancing at age 3, studied dance with Kay McCabe at Kimball Union Academy, and has a degree in Anthropology from St. Lawrence University. She has worked with many nonprofit organizations over the past decade.

Most recently in Vermont, Tai performed in Farm to Ballet and Ballet Vermont's performance company from 2019-2023, and was an ensemble dancer in Hannah Dennison's The Quarry Project in 2022. Other notable credits include performing works by Kyung Eun Lee of Lee K. Dance and Nakita-Moné of Moné Dance Company, plus participating in summer intensives with Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, LehrerDance, and the Salzburg International Ballet Academy. She also won the Kirk Douglas Drama Award at St. Lawrence University (awarded to the student who has made the greatest contribution in the field of dramatic arts) and worked with dancers at the Mathare Youth Sports Association in Kenya. She has also worked with several local dancers & theatre companies across New Hampshire, Vermont, and Buffalo, NY.
