Lucia Gagliardone (she/her/hers) is Vermont-born choreographer and dance artist. In her work, she deals with themes of healing and community, relationships with the earth and water, disintegration and wholeness, and various iterations of the self. Lucia has premiered ten original live and film dance works, which have been presented by The Living Room in Portland, Bowdoin College, The Hopkins Center for the Arts, Star Mountain Amphitheater, Grange Hall Cultural Center, DanceArtTheater, Next Reflex Dance Collective, and Coalescence. She has performed in works by Katy Pyle of Ballez, Aretha Aoki, Vanessa Anspaugh, and Gwyneth Jones at Bowdoin College, the Northampton School for Contemporary Dance and Thought, Moving Target as part of Portland Dance Month and as a principal dancer for Flock Dance Troupe under the artistic direction of Carol Langstaff. Lucia produced two full length interdisciplinary performances, SURFACE TENSION and The Hollow. She worked for Urbanity Dance Company teaching creative movement, modern dance, and improvisation to groups of all ages and abilities, and founded and led the Bowdoin Modern Dance Collective, an inclusive movement lab and class. Her training and work are grounded in modern dance, authentic movement, and improvisation, and she has a B.A. in Dance and Sociology from Bowdoin College.
