The Embodied Artist: Online Weekend Retreat
Join Neva Cockrell for a weekend of embodiment and creativity! Each day will include somatic meditation, movement, creative practice, and a chance to share your work.
This is a great opportunity for dancers to take time to care for their bodies AND have a supportive container to create work.

Dances at a Distance : Navigating the Current
The dance community of southwest Vermont has taken this unusual summer of 2020 to work outdoors, in backyards, and open areas to create our own responses to COVID-19 through dance. The project was initiated out of a sense of deep loss in not being able to dance together in our usual dance class setting. Everyone had to work within the specific guidelines for social distancing and wearing of masks. It has been somewhat strange to work this way but also wonderfully gratifying to be in each others presence, sharing mutual support and solving the challenges of the day together.
Contemporary Barre & Floorwork
A brand new resident of Vermont, Nikaio Tomashow (they/them/theirs) is a Filipinx-American dancer and choreographer. Coming from a family of break dancers and movers, Nikaio started dancing at a very young age and is highly skilled in contemporary, street styles, improvisation, and ballet.
In this class, Nikaio begins with a Contemporary take on a barre warm up and then finishes with floorwork. This class is appropriate for intermediate level Contemporary dancers.
Limited to 10 dancers. Masks are required.
