With a minor in Dance as part of her Bachelor’s Degree from Montclair State College (1975) and a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy as part of her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Lesley College (1993), Carla has integrated her interest in both dance and photography in ways that engage her audiences to interact with her art and each other.
Carla’s dance interests are primarily within the post-modern improvisational genre. She has studied and performed with and photographed the dancers of Ensemble Marie with Upper Valley choreographer Marie Fourcaut. Since 2016, Carla and Marie along with dancers from the Ensemble have journeyed to Vermont farms, forests and geological sites to photograph and video tape dance and movement moments. Collaborating with Marie, Carla has recently produced a movement video in response to her solo exhibit at AVA Gallery in Lebanon, NH.
