When change is who you are, who are you?
I've been working on this question for the last two years. A Singular They is some of the answer, in the form of a solo show for ground, aerials, and mobility apparatus. The works engage elements of identity and embodiment in a mosaic self-portrait, including an outsider's approach to masculinity, the way time changes with chronic pain, and what it's like to find freedom. It features pieces co-choreographed with Christal Brown, Nicole Dagesse, Polly Motley, NEVE, and Noah Witke Mele.
This version was filmed at the New England Center for Circus Arts in conclusion of my residency period there and will include an online discussion after showing. Closed captioning is available; verbal description is not yet available at this point in development, but a piece-by-piece visual summary will be (see my website for details in "additional links").
