Rock (time) impersonation, sea cucumber breathing, oak drag, sonic grief lichens, moss erotics, and alchemical adornment make up the Orphan Collage in which guests will be invited to entangle their own flesh, mourning, longings, suspicions, more-than-humanness, and revolutionary instincts. Join for a gently wandering performance in fleshly, subterranean dialogue with the lands and stories of black hole hollow. If you experience physical limitations that would prevent short distances of slow-paced walking on uneven terrain and wish to join the event, please be in touch and we will plan for your full and supported participation.
Hana van der Kolk (pronouns any and all) is a dancer, artist, educator, organizer of ceremonies, celebrations, parades, and collaborative events, somatic and Internal Family Systems-based coach, and sex and gender expansion worker. Hana has been based on the unceded Mohican (now known as the Stockbridge Munsee community) land in what is called Troy, NY for eight years and are also frequently in the Netherlands and New Orleans. A life-long dancer and performer, they have taught their dance class “radial diamond kinetics” and other dance, movement, performance, and body-based transformation practices internationally for over 15 years to a wide range of populations. Hana recently completed a practice-based PhD with a collection of ways of practicing creative intimacy with self, other, and world and a series of letters to collaborators speculating on our bodies as sites of magic and multiplicity, queer friendship, entanglement with the more-than-human, and possibilities of dismantling white supremacy, ableism, and cisheteropatriarchy with and through bodies and complex relationality. The letters and scores will come out in book form in 2023. Hana loves her dog, friends, the forest and desert, and all shades of pink and gold.
