Come delight in the magic of Traces: A Public Dance Happening, presented by the Vermont Dance Alliance, on Saturday June 15th! Experience a full day of free outdoor dance performances happening throughout downtown Burlington, Vermont!
The day will feature pieces by dance artists from throughout the state, ranging in styles from Contemporary to Improvisation, Contact improvisation, Noyes Rhythm, and Ballet. You can also see the performances that were created in the Dance Expansion workshops on June 8th.

Footprints, fingerprints, smudges on a mirror, dirt from shoes, indent on cushion, paint chipped off the railing. Photographs of the light that day, a thank you note, crinkled candy wrapper, business card secretly tucked into your pocket. We create traces constantly. Marking territory, dividing the invisible and visible, creating layers of history and memory for those to come. Simultaneously, our bodies are vessels, carrying traces of experience, knowledge, training and practice. As humans move through the world, we leave traces of ourselves behind, whether physical, material, environmental or energetic.
