Passing by The Passing Project

Passing, a dynamic dance performance exploring how we can pass on with grace, premiered at the Chandler in 2018. Now that same performance is being brought to the big screen! March 8th at 5 pm, at The Savoy Theater in Montpelier, you can see a special showing of the film: Passing. The film will be followed by a Q&A and light reception.

One week later, on Sunday, March 15, from 1-4 pm, Tracy will facilitate a Passing Stories workshop at the Garage Cultural Center in Montpelier. It is intended that The Passing Project will live and tour throughout New England and to other national venues, and we invite one and all to come learn what The Passing Project is all about.

I am returning to creative dance and performance after many years of running SafeArt out of Chelsea VT (www.safeart.org). The Passing Project is a collaboration of mine with Tamara Hurwitz Pullman, with whom I danced in Montana in the early 80's. We began playing with the Passing theme in 2012 and are finally bringing it as work-in-progress to LAndARTLab in Sept, then premiering it April 28, 2018 at Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph VT. The dancers and musicians are creating the piece with us. Otto Pierce, who is dancing in the piece, is also collaborating with me on a sculptural set of wooden figures with knotless netted linen forms. This sculpture will represent the veil between the worlds, which part and allow entry to The Thin Place, a place of transformation and transcendence in Celtic lore.
