Movement for Parkinson's Student Showing

On December 9th at 6:30 pm, Flynn Center for Performing Arts Student Showcase presents the Movement for Parkinson's Dancers. Come and witness the powerful presence of these amazing dancers who come together to perform their movement and singing magic.

m sara McMahon has been involved in the research, teaching, and performing of movement/dance for over 40 years. In 2014 she developed the Movement for Parkinson's® program to bring dance/movement to the Vermont Parkinson's community. She is a Dance for PD® Certified Teacher. MfPD classes invite movement making that opens the body to the flow of energy that is inherent in movement. Classes incorporate basic movement fundamentals that enliven body awareness, improve flexibility and range of motion, reinforce postural stability, and enhances ones ability to move with confidence. Class is infused with a diverse selection of music that inspires and invigorates the spirit.

Participating artists

Recent owner and director of 2INSPIRE Dance LLC, and SynRgy Dance Company, Rose Bedard is a native Vermonter who offers dance classes, choreography, artistic direction, private lessons and more to studios and communities in the surrounding area. She has just completed her 3rd year at the Flynn Performing Arts Center where she teaches hip hop and jazz as well as being part of the education team for their Student Matinee Series. Rose is the twelfth year coach of the Mt.Mansfield Union dance team who recently won their fifth year in a row, jazz and hip hop championships in the Vermont Northern Athletic Conference and also just collected their 5th state championship title in hip hop. Her team also went on to place 3rd in hip hop at the New England level for the second year in a row. Recently, she has become, the creator, director of the her own adult dance company “SynRgy Dance Company” and continues to work and choreograph at local studios in Vermont as well as her very own, 2INSPIRE Dance Company.
