Amy Königbauer’s artwork is about relationships and she has been pursuing ways to facilitate exchanges between people with the work that she creates. Using vulnerability as a tool to allow for deeper connection, she considers the physical nature of energy that is being exchanged while people work together. The process and production of her work often lends itself to ephemeral, intangible experiences, but she is still highly interested in the artistry involved in making, especially in creating work with others. Participation in her work is intended to reveal a sense of humanity, to heal or address the cultural wounds that run deep within us, and to allow us to slow down and appreciate the delicacy of human experience. Amy holds an MFA from Transart Institute, she became a teacher at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and created multimedia photographs at The University of Michigan during her BFA. She is also currently working as an educator to transform public schools by giving students more autonomy. Amy was born and raised near Detroit, Michigan and has lived in Vermont since 2008.

I am a native Vermonter who is passionate about all aspects of dance. I currently teach classes at Contemporary Dance and Fitness Studio in Montpelier - ballet, contemporary ballet, and modern. In addition to teaching, I am always developing my own choreography.
