Finding ease and grace in the mind and body is accessible to all. Through gentle movement and mindfulness practices, we will explore tools that settle the nervous system, bring ease and efficiency to our movement and discover our own agency in integrating practices that sustain our well being.
Class is available to anyone and is ideally done on the floor. Other equipment that can be helpful: a belt, a cushion, a blanket.
The Open Door Movement Lab offers a wide range of movement classes and workshops that explore the many faces of dance and movement and emphasize a healing and nourishing practice for the body. Our offerings include modern and contemporary technique, improvisation and composition, somatics and authentic movement, and Alexander Technique. We cultivate immersive, site-specific dance performances using collaborative choreographic methods with our diverse community of dancers. The Movement Lab works in coordination and partnership with our wellness clinic and outreach programs.
