We will explore our own movement vocabulary and stories by using prompts and guided practices. The class will consist of a somatic-based warm-up, improvisational scores and prompts, an opportunity to give and receive constructive feedback, and a focus on honing our skills as authentic movers and improvisational artists.
The Open Door Movement Lab offers a wide range of movement classes and workshops that explore the many faces of dance and movement and emphasize a healing and nourishing practice for the body. Our offerings include modern and contemporary technique, improvisation and composition, somatics and authentic movement, and Alexander Technique. We cultivate immersive, site-specific dance performances using collaborative choreographic methods with our diverse community of dancers. The Movement Lab works in coordination and partnership with our wellness clinic and outreach programs.
