Facilitator: Rachel Bernsen

“Explore your way of bringing meditation awareness into movement in this very moment…It’s time for self-care, research, and courting the unexpected. Wait for sudden images and sensations to surprise you, to move you. Follow them. Develop them. And rest often. Encourage kinesthetic delight.” - Barbara Dilley

30 minutes sitting meditation
30 minutes “personal warm-up” or “personal awareness space”
40 minutes “Open Space”
We end with a short seated meditation and time for discussion

Contemplative Dance Practice was developed by dancer and teacher Barbara Dilley and first practiced at Naropa University in 1980, where Dilley has long taught. The form is adapted from nyinthuns, a Tibetan Buddhist day long group meditation practice.

This practice is open to all.

Rachel Bernsen is a dance artist, educator and Alexander Technique Teacher, exploring improvisation in many forms.
