Join us for a fun and eclectic approach to modern dance. We’ll build strength and flexibility, learn to inhabit our bodies more fully, explore efficient movement patterns and cultivate more ease/awareness with which to move through life. Classes will be a blend of many approaches to modern dance/movement including both traditional techniques and somatic practices. No experience necessary, though some form of movement experience will be helpful. Comfortable clothing and bare feet please.
Classes will explore the basics of modern dance through floor work, standing center work, traveling phrases and creative explorations/improvisations. Concepts will include grounding/centering, release/recovery, various forms of partner work, and more! As we dance, we will attend to both our inner and outer experience of moving through space.
