Marissa began dancing at a young age, and has been an active lover of movement and artistry in many forms throughout her life. After a several year hiatus, she is entering back into the dance world eager to dance, create, connect and perform. Currently on the board of The Vermont Dance Alliance, she is passionate about collaboration and helping to connect community and resources.
She received a BA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of New Hampshire and a minor in Dance. She has since pursued Natural Health and Wellness practices and education. Her love of movement has fused with a strong energetic awareness and intuition, as well as deep appreciation for sciences. This has led her to explore a career as a Movement Educator and Energy Worker. She is the owner of "Align," in Burlington Vermont.
She is beyond grateful to be dancing and connecting with the local dance community, returning "home" to dance. In her free time, she explores the natural world through outdoor adventures, and has a special affinity for climbing/dancing on rocks. She strongly believes that the natural world is always offering us inspiration to align with our natural rhythms.
“Come forth into the light of things. Let nature be your teacher.”
