Bronwyn Sims is a creator, actor, choreographer, and educator. She has appeared in film and on television including a role in the Emmy award winning first season of The Sopranos. Her NYC stage credits include; New York City Opera at Lincoln Center, National Black Theatre of Harlem, BAAD ( Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance) Dixon Place, The Kitchen, La Mama.
Regional stage credits include: Philadelphia Zoo, Opera Philadelphia, American Repertory Theatre, Pig Iron Theatre Company, Fringe Arts, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Barnes Foundation, Almanac Dance Circus Theatre, GF&Co, Great River Theater Festival, Main Street Arts, Speakeasy Stage Company, Berkshire Fringe Festival, Rochester Fringe Festival,
The Celebration Barn, Apron Theater Company, Raven Theatrical and a European tour with Sandglass Theatre.
Bronwyn is currently creating choreography work with Bellows Falls Union High School and Co Directing 15 Minute Hamlet with Leland and Gray High School this Winter. She will be directing The Sound of Music at The Putney Grammar School this Spring. She is a teaching artist with the Weston Playhouse in Weston VT.
Bronwyn was on the faculty at The Pig Iron School for Advanced Performance Training in Philadelphia Pa teaching acrobatics and movement. She was a Lecturer in Acting at Yale School of Drama, and was on the faculty at New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA). She also was a Lecturer in Stage Management at Yale School of Drama and has conducted guest master classes, throughout New England, New York, Pennsylvania and Colorado.
Her choreography and production credits include work with Yale Repertory Theatre, Yale School of Drama, American Repertory Theatre, Pig Iron School for Advanced Performance Training,
Philadelphia School of Circus Arts, The Vermont Academy, Leland and Gray High School, Bellows Falls Union High School.
Bronwyn has trained in a wide range of physical and theatrical disciplines. Her teaching specialties include aerial and acrobatic choreography, creating and devising original material, improvisation and character development, yoga, inversions, and physical work for the actor.
Bronwyn was awarded grants from The Vermont Community Foundation and The Vermont Arts Council. She is a registered teaching artist in the State of Vermont, She is Co-Founder and Producing Director of Strong Coffee Stage.
