Being A Singular They

Being A Singular They

Join me on Monday evening to talk about performing as a nonbinary person - how my gender has shaped my work and vice versa. I'll be showing some excerpts from A Singular They, including the evolution of the oldest work in the show from 2014-present, during which time quite a lot of gender has happened to it. We'll talk about what it's like to choreograph through transition and to make choices in presentation as a nonbinary person in a distinctly binary world.

Thinking Like A Watershed

Thinking Like A Watershed

Vermont Dance Alliance welcomes Vermont based watershed thinker and environmental educator Trevien Stanger to lead an engaging exploration of “Watershed Thinking”— an embodied model of experiencing place. By weaving together geography/topography, deep ecology, water ethics, and eco-spirituality, we will explore what it means to identify with, and participate in, the health of our home watersheds.

Highlight House Party

Highlight House Party

Highlight “House Party” is virtual celebration for New Year’s Eve! To ring in 2021, the celebration will welcome hundreds of Vermont-grown performers to live-stream from their own stages at the new virtual festival grounds! Imagine entering this new space and journeying through hundreds of unique stages — watch a live concert, have tea with an artist, dance with an acrobat, take your kids to a make-your-own-art workshop, or tune in to a cooking class with an amateur chef (and yes, there will still be fireworks this year!). At this house party, you can do it all! It’s your house.
