The ChoreoLab is a program sponsored by The Junction Dance Festival. During nine weeks in the summer starting June 1st, up to five choreographers are able to use a professional studio space to create, rehearse and produce their work. A "work in progress" will be shown on Thursday July 1st at 7pm, and a closing performance on Friday July 30th at 7pm.
Alice Sheppard's work as a choreographer, thinker and leader within the field of Disability Arts opens up new understandings of the moving world — a world in which access is both equitable and artistically aesthetic. For this virtual workshop, the Hop has connected Alice Sheppard with Eugene Korsunskiy, a specialist in design thinking and hands-on learning. The two will interweave movement exercises, embodied experiments and reflection, bringing knowledge and questions from their related fields into conversation.
Traces, a day of outdoor dance happenings, will celebrate the change into summer, dancing in public spaces, and connection of community. We will begin with a movement and lecture workshop about the importance of soil microbiology in simultaneously preventing both flood and drought.
This workshop is being offered to help introduce the theme of water with choreography and dance, and to provide inspiration for the 17 Vermont choreographers who are participating in Traces 2021.
Let's join together for a day of unique workshops, centered around creating awareness and well-being with yourself.

Join Neva Cockrell for a weekend of embodiment and creativity! Each day will include somatic meditation, movement, creative practice, and a chance to share your work.
This is a great opportunity for dancers to take time to care for their bodies AND have a supportive container to create work.
